Carmax Cookout

Big Cottonwood Canyon stream at Ledgemere Campground

Well, if the Fort Herriman parade, carnival and fishing weren't enough "fun" for Brenna, hopefully the last event of the weekend provided the icing on the cake. We went up Big Cottonwood Canyon to the Ledgemere campground for a cookout with some of Brent's co-workers. The campground was right next to the stream that was rushing with spring run off. The sound of the water running over the rocks was so peaceful. The paths along the stream were asphalt paved, so we didn't have to worry about tripping over tree roots and rocks. The campground was a large concrete rectangle with a large picnic table, grill and fire pit. We had hot dogs, hamburgers and smores. I hadn't had a smore is a long time and it was delicious.

Brenna spent a lot of time running up and down the paths with Riley, Brandon's little girl. They enjoyed throwing rocks in the stream and even hiked up the side of the mountain with Brandon to a cave. Both girls enjoyed exploring and got along famously.

Austin just loved being outdoors and having everyone tell him how adorable he is. It's a rough life for that little guy I tell ya.

It was nice having a weekend packed with so much activity, but I don't think I could keep up that level of excitement every week!
