We Went Out Last Night

Last night Brent and I treated ourselves to some time with each other. Brent took the day off, I worked a half day and Holly, Brenna's teacher, watched the kids for us. We had an early dinner at Red River Steakhouse where we enjoyed delicious prime rib, sauteed mushrooms and creamed spinach. Then we headed over to Rio Tinto Stadium where we saw Lady Antebellum, Miranda Lambert and Kenny Chesney in concert. It was a bit hot until the sun went down, but the great music and entertainment made up for the heat. This is the 3rd time we've seen Kenny Chesney in concert and he just keeps getting better and better.

Brent got us tickets in the Sandbar which put is within 5 feet of the stage. We had to stand the entire 5+ hours, but it was worth it to be that close. It was the first time I had been that close the to action of a concert, and it had been a while for Brent. He recalls being in the 5th row for Def Leppard back in the, yes I'll say it, 80's. Ugh, we're getting older, but we can still hold our own in a crowd of drunk, rowdy, Kenny-crazy girls. Yes, even in Utah with the watered-down Corona, the girls in their halter tops, jean skirts and cowboy boots managed to get their buzz on and act like fools. It was quite entertaining at times.

Back in February when we bought the tickets, they were heralded as my 40th birthday present, but as time went by they became our Mother's and Father's Day gifts. Brent felt like it was unfair for him to reap the rewards of my birthday gift, so he got me a beautiful pair of earrings in my birthstone that match a necklace he got me for Valentine's day last year. It's so awesome to have such a wonderful, giving husband. Thank you, honey, for taking us out for such a fun and entertaining evening.

There are more concert pics posted here. Only a few pictures show up on the home page, so click "view album" to see all of them.

You got some great pics! Love the profile of the mohawk and the curvy girls on stage. Looks like the Corona's may have kicked a bit with the Kenny Chesney shots!
