Yes Indeed, I'm Walkin'

If you would have asked me yesterday, "Is Austin walking yet?" I would have said, "Well, he's working on it, but not quite there yet." Well today, he's there! It's amazing the difference a day makes.

Climbing to New Heights

Too many times I hear, "Mommy, he's up on the white thing again!" coming from the toy room. Austin has an adventurous spirit and thinks he needs to be the King Kong of the Little People farm and house. Luckily for now this is as far as he gets. I have a sneaking suspicion that if Brenna didn't rat him out every time, he'd be on that train table in no time!

Where's my DS?

"Where's my DS?" has become the most commonly asked question in our house these days with "I'm hungry. Is it snack time yet?" running a close second. Brenna has mastered the My Little Pony game and the music from this game is burned into my brain. So much so that when I was up one night with Austin this week, that was all that was going through my head. I also find myself humming the tunes while I'm at work. I think I need some serious therapy or perhaps an exorcism. I really shouldn't mock the My Little Pony game. It has made the drive to and from school more enjoyable. Brenna does a lot less back seat driving and there are fewer complaints that she is "dead thirsty" or "dead hungry".
For those of you who might be concerned that she is going to spend too much time playing video games, don't worry. There is still a healthy does of other activities that don't involve electronics. These activity cards from Usborne Books have been a big hit and often travel to and from school with us as well as help keep her busy mind occupied at home. Too bad there's only 100 activities. I might be able to get more blogs posted if there were say 1 million!

Budding Rock Star?

Austin doesn't want to be outdone by Brenna when it comes to rockin' the house. Of course he has his own style of music - the "I'm teething and my parents won't rock me to sleep anymore" blues.

At Long Last...Christmas Photos

On Christmas Eve, I thought to myself, "I'm going to sneak away and do some Christmas Eve blogging." On Christmas Day, the same thought occurred to me, but somehow other pressing matters like cooking dinner, changing diapers, putting someone down for a nap, etc just kept getting in the way. So here it is January already and I'm just getting around to going through the photos and sharing them with those of you who could not be with us during the holiday. Who knows, maybe I'm keeping the spirit of Christmas alive by making you wait this long. Here are a few photos from the day, and if you'd like to see more click here.

The Austin Express

All aboard for "I'm getting ready to walk fun"! Woohoo! We are still working on getting his first official steps on video, so this little preview will have to do for now. It's a good thing Brenna is around to steer him in the right direction. Austin pushes harder with his right hand and ends up turning left a lot. We think he's going to be a NASCAR driver and is just getting used to the feeling.
